MG2 is looking for a talented SharePoint Developer located in our Seattle office.  Please note this is a full-time, salaried regular position, not contract.

The SharePoint Developer plays a key role in understanding and developing new features and maintaining existing MG2 Intranet portal. The SD is also responsible for understanding and support some of the relevant internal MG2 applications and process. Following are the key responsibilities and skill set expected for this role:


  • Expertise with requirements elicitation, project planning, and building automated technology based solutions.
  • Understanding the benefits and limitations of MG2 intranet application and improve/maintain these applications
  • Periodically review and recommend security and best practices
  • Capable of prioritizing and proactively set right expectations with stake holders on the delivery dates
  • Ensure sufficient documentations for the deliverables and daily work products
  • Willingness to explore and learn new SharePoint features and tools that could make users more efficient with their job
  • Proactively recommend/discuss on things that could be beneficial to end users
  • Prepare sufficient documentation of deliverables
  • Create user training documents where ever it is applicable
  • Listens effectively to instructions given by IT leadership and MG2 staff
  • Demonstrates the ability to use sound judgment and discretion
  • Ability to respond to emergency situations effectively
  • Troubleshoot problems effectively by understanding the issue at hand and considers the options available
  • Collects information for support and resolves the issues in a timely manner
  • Demonstrates the ability to listen and observe well to the needs of the user or problem at hand and responds appropriately
  • Showing initiative to “step up” and assist team with time sensitive projects or when we have holes in staffing
  • Demonstrates a positive attitude and willingness to pick up and take care of any IT related issue/project no matter who’s primary responsibility it is



2 to 3 years of development and support expertise with MS SharePoint 2010 and above. Strong knowledge in the following areas of MS SharePoint

  • Creating and managing site collections, sites and pages
  • Configuring and using most of the SharePoint OTB web parts
  • Hands on experience with CSS and JS
  • Good understanding with SharePoint services
  • Working knowledge of creating custom web parts
  • Creating and using Site, page and web part templates
  • Working knowledge of creating new and maintaining SharePoint workflows
  • Worked on data connectivity to external data sources

1 to 2 years of administration and troubleshooting experience with MS SharePoint 2010 and above

  • Working knowledge of using SharePoint central administration module
  • Enabling, configuring and troubleshooting web services
  • Deploying and configuring 3rd party web parts
  • Managing SharePoint security and knowledgeable on security best practices
  • Working knowledge on SharePoint usage analytics and monitoring performance
  • Check and maintain intranet health like Site usage and growth, disk space usage and growth)
  • Setting up alerts and enforcing policies

Other relevant experience a plus but not required

  • Working knowledge with writing and maintaining PowerShell scripts
  • Expertise in handling data from MS SQL and MS Access
  • Ability to understand Excel VBA
  • Knowledge on SharePoint and Active directory integration

  • Knowledgeable in SDLC steps and process
  • Experience working with a team
  • Ability to communicate technical information clearly and professionally
  • Capable of prioritizing the work and be proactive in communicating the status
  • Willingness to constantly learn and keep up with the updates in core technologies that this role is responsible for
