MG2 is looking for a Commercial Studio Leader for our Washington, D.C. office.

MG2 partners with businesses around the world to create transformative experiences through our architectural services, planning, interior design, brand strategy, and consulting services. MG2 is consistently ranked among the largest architecture firms in the nation and among the top retail design firms in the world. MG2 serves clients around the globe from four offices: Seattle, WA; Irvine, CA; Washington, DC and Shanghai.

Our DC Office is very excited to expand our Commercial practice and this role will play a key part in it. We are looking for a leader who will leverage their East Coast Commercial market experience to build relationships with Commercial clients on behalf of MG2 and help us grow our business. This is an entrepreneurial opportunity and a chance to grow and shape a studio team.


  • Lead the Commercial studio for our DC office, which includes hospitality, residential, retail, mixed-use and corporate office
  • Lead business development efforts and see pursuits through to contracted work.
  • Expected revenue/profitability targets
  • Build trust and strong working relationships with staff and leaders of the Firm
  • Lead the implementation of projects, project contracts, establishment of fees, and project budgets
  • Transition in and expand client opportunities and relationships while establishing new relationships with prospective clients on behalf of MG2.
  • Active participation in industry organizations and visibility externally in the commercial market on behalf of MG2
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of best practices for BD, project management, and design services
  • Lead, mentor, and grow the studio’s, project managers, designers, and project staff


  • 15+ years of experience
  • Established credentials in the industry, regarded as an industry leader
  • Current architectural registration preferred
  • Proven ability to build and manage a team
  • Ability to serve as a positive influencer who inspires and motivates
  • Strong business and management acumen
  • Strong aptitude for strategic planning
  • Portfolio of recent built work and projects.
  • Ability to generate new business
  • Regional relevance in the commercial market on the East Coast
  • Ability to travel
